Here is a good long-arm lobster fossil of the species Mecochirus longimanatus from the lithographic limestone of Eichstätt. This Mecochirus is nice preserved and it is presented in the center of this decorative Solnhofen plate. The plate is shaped by the natural fissures and discreetly frames the fossil with decorative manganese dendrites. The fossil Lobster itself measures about 113 mm, as it is on the plate.
