This fossil plate from the Green River Formation shows a well-preserved beetle of the genus Tropisternus together with a fungus gnat. The fossil beetle is likely to be the species Tropisternus saxialis. The beetle is measures approximately 8.5 x 6 mm. The fossil fungus gnat measures 9 x 8 mm. It’s a displayable plate with the both insect fossils nicely arranged together. | |||
