This plate from the middle Triassic Muschelkalk from Oberwohlsbach, shows several fossil brittle stars of the species Aspiduriella scutellata. Most of the stars are only preserved as negatives. At least one Aspiduriella specimen is fully preserved. Fossil brittle stars from the Muschelkalk are rare. This piece is a nice and inexpensive example a Triassic Ophiurd. | |||
