Products description

Here is a fossil branch of a primeval sequoia of the genus Metasequoia from the John Day Formation. The classic outcrops of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument are quite famous for there absolutely scenic landscape.
Understandably, the collecting of fossils is prohibited there. The piece offered here comes likely from a site behind the school sports field in the village of Fossil in Oregon. The Metasequoia branch is about 77 mm long.
This is a beautiful piece from an unusual location.
