Products description

This is a large Exuvia from a trilobite of the species Neseuretus tristani from Portugal.
This trilobite exuvia shows nicely how the trilobite has moulted from its old and too small exoskeleton.
The pygidium and thorax are still completely articulated. The rostral plate and the cheeks lie in front of the thorax. The Cephalon light drifts a bit in the front left in the direction which the trilobite has got out of its old carapace

From the fossil collector's point of view, this is perhaps the most attractive form of embedding, but this fossil tells a story. This Neseuretus itself would was 120 mm long.
