Here is a fossil predatory fish of the species Eurypholis boissieri with a prey fish in its belly. This fossil fish from Lebanon offers a detailed, organic preservation. This is particularly evident on the UV images. It almost seems as if this Eurypholis is already greedily snapping at his next prey. The fossil fish itself measures about 120 mm and is embedded in a perfect lateral position. The prey fish in the stomach is also clearly visible. This fossil is a fish within a fish with organic skin preservation in an attractive posture. |
