This fossil decapod from the lithographic Solnhofen limestone of Eichstätt is a beautiful specimen of the species Franconipenaeus meyeri. The fossil shrimp offers a detailed as well as high-contrast preservation. The species was accounted to be a member of genus Antrimpos in the older literature. The determination Antrimpos meyeri is now outdated in favor of Franconipenaeus meyeri. Outstrached would this crustacean fossil be 92 mm long, without the antenna. | |||
