| This is a fossil brachiopod colony of the Lower Cambrian of Chengjiang. The brachiopods belong to the species Diandongia pista. The reddish stripes are probably a hard ground which the brachiopods inhabited. It could be a soft sponge. The fossil brachiopods themselves measure about 5 mm. This is a interesting piece from the Chengjiang Biota. | |||
