This rare Ediacara fossil of the species Cyclomedusa gigantea comes directly from the Flinders Range in South Australia. It shows a partially preserved Cyclomedusa gigantea, whose central disc is almost completely preserved. This fossil is a rare specimen directly from the Ediacara Hills. The Ediacara Hills are a range of hills in the northwest of the Flinders Ranges in the Australian state of South Australia. They are known for the discovery of the Ediacara fauna, a group of macrofossils that lived about 580-540 million years ago. The Ediacara fossils are imprints in shelf sediments named after their most famous site, the Ediacara Hills. | |||
