Here is a decorative and spectacular trilobite pair of the genus Zlichovaspis. An Zlichovaspis double specimen from the “Couche Rouge” at Jbel Issoumour is indeed rare. Both specimens exhibit an elongated posture and show good preservation. This piece comes from an older collection and has actually been sold online before, with a prominent ‘Authenticity guaranteed’ label. While the specimen is of course authentic, it does have some restorations. The larger trilobite shows only a minor restoration at the anterior right margin of the cephalon. The fractures are nicely repaired. The smaller specimen also has some restorations: on the left side, near the glabella, and on the left eye cover. Additionally, there are no repairs on the pleura. The trilobites measure 41 mm and 26 mm, respectively. This is also clearly visible in UV images. Overall, this piece is a spectacular and reasonably priced display item. | |||
