Thaleops surpestes is a rare trilobite from the family Illaenidae and the only known representative of this genus from the British Isles. The species was originally described by Reed in 1944 as Illaenus surpestes. Later, in 1988, the species was assigned to the genus Nanillaenus (Jaanusson, 1954) by Morris. | |||
