| Here is an excellent fossil fern leaf of the species Cystodium sorbifolioides, preserved as an amber inclusion in Cretaceous Burmese amber. The leaf itself measures about 9 mm in length. As bycatch there is also a rare tick (Ixodida)in the amber. Plant inclusions are also quite rare in Burmese amber. | |||
