This Lithographical limestone plate shows the last foot steps of a Limulus from Solnhofen together with the horseshoe crab on its end. The Solnhofen-limestone is practically the only locality where trace fossils (or ichnofossils) with the creature that made them been found together. This Limulus is about 144 mm long. The plate is shown from hanging side so that the Limulus shows its ventral body side and the track is as positive prints. The clearly preserved Limulus track way is about 340 mm long.
