Here is a large "Solnhofen Starfish" of the species  Riedaster reicheli from Ried.
This Riedaster shows well centered on a unbroken plate and offers a quite detailed preservation.
The spines of the see star are good visibile and the fossil is quite inflated preserved.
The Riedaster it self measures about 72 x 51 mm as it is on the plate.
Fossil starfishes are always very rare in Solnhofen.
