This is a rare soft-bodied marrellomorph arthropod of the species Furca mauretanica, originating from the Fezouata Shale Lagerstätte in Morocco. The specimen is preserved as a partial split fossil, showing both sides and offering some beautiful details. Notably, the antennae and several legs are well preserved. While the fork-like appendages don’t offer strong contrast, they exhibit a delicate and detailed preservation that has not been tainted by artificial coloration. This Furca mauretanica is a nice and authentic specimen. The fossil itself measures approximately 59 × 49 mm as it embedded on the plate. |
