The Carrara Formation is a succession of sandstone, shale and dolomite that was formed in the Middle Cambrian about 505 million years ago. It is home to a diverse community of trilobites belonging to the orders Ptychopariida, Agnostida and Corynexochida. Notable species include Albertella longwelli, Olenellus (Paedeumias) terminatus, Bristolia bristolensis, and Peachella brevispina.
