This is a large and prone trilobite of the species Eldredgeops rana from the Devonian of New York. This trilobite shows a detailed preservation as well as some decorative pyrite. There is a restoration in the tail shield. This is easy to see on the UV image. It is nevertheless a beautiful specimen on a decorative and well-sized piece of matrix.
The trilobite itself is about 38 mm long. |
