This beautiful and authentic heteromorphic ammonite belongs to the species Acrioceras tabarelli and originates from the Lower Cretaceous period in Morocco. Although this ammonite species is often still offered under the synonym ‘Ancyloceras tabarelli,’ it was already assigned to the genus Acrioceras by F. Cecca* et al. in 1998. The ammonite itself measures about 85 mm in length. *F. Cecca, P. Faragni, and A. Marini. 1998. Latest Hauterivian (Early Cretaceous) ammonites from Umbria-Marche Apennines (central Italy).
