This piece contains a complete specimen of a eurypterid of the species Balteurypterus tetragonophthalmus from the Silurian period of Ukraine. This specimen clearly shows both swimming legs as well as the telson. The main specimen, as embedded in the slab, measures approximately 48 mm in length. Additionally, the slab includes a second, though incomplete, specimen.
